Who is currently serving as editor-in-chief of the Journal of Colloid and Interface Science, and has research interests in the areas of interfacial and colloidal phenomena, foams, emulsions and dispersions, and food and environmental technologies.

Mr. Alvarado earned a B.S. in Physics from Universidad del Valle in Colombia, and an MBA from IIT's Stuart Graduate School of Business. Alvarado joined IIT in 1998 working for Chicago-Kent College of Law and the Stuart Graduate School of Business in 2002. He currently manages IIT's recruiting efforts in Latin America; he has developed strategic partnerships with top universities through joint degrees, faculty and student exchange, new academic programs and joint research. He also actively participates in professional Hispanic organizations in the Chicago area.
