Mr. Alvarado earned a B.S. in Physics from Universidad del Valle in Colombia, and an MBA from IIT's Stuart Graduate School of Business. Alvarado joined IIT in 1998 working for Chicago-Kent College of Law and the Stuart Graduate School of Business in 2002. He currently manages IIT's recruiting efforts in Latin America; he has developed strategic partnerships with top universities through joint degrees, faculty and student exchange, new academic programs and joint research. He also actively participates in professional Hispanic organizations in the Chicago area.

Visit of the IIT on November 20th, 2008

Last November 20th, 2008, the IPN had the visit of two recognized researchers from the Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT), Ph. D. Jamshid Mohammadi, Chairman of the Civil Engineering Departament, and Ph. D. Demetrios J. Moschandreas, Director of the Environmental Engineering Program.

Dr. Mohammadi presented the lecture "Estimation of fatigue service lives of highway bridges". Afterwards there was an Engineering Workshop to promote cooperation links between IIT and IPN for students and researchers, mobility and joint projects.
